Fire Brigade Visit

On Monday 19th March 2018, our nursery received a special visit from Sidcup Fire Brigade where the children had an amazing treat. The visit was part of the children learning topic "Understanding the World" and they got a glimpse of how the role of a firefighter is so important to our local community.

Prior to the fire brigade visit, the children had designed their own fire engine and tools used to tackle the fire and they were so happy to see the enormous red truck pull into the nursery yard. The children learned fire engine functions and what is involved in the work of a firefighter. They had great fun learning about safety, sitting in the fire engine truck and had the opportunity to get a real feel for the tools used by the Firefighters to tackle a blaze.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Sidcup Fire Station and their amazing staff for taking the time to visit to our day nursery. It has really helped our learning and inspired the children to learn more about different occupation.
